Northwest Dealer Closing after 60 Years

(Sept. 26, 2017)  Sixty-year-old James Lumber & Ace Hardware, Poulsbo, Wa., began a liquidation sale last month, with plans to close by the end of November.

Mitch James, whose purchased the store from his father, attributed the closure primarily to the business not receiving the optimal return on investment for the property. The five-acre site is currenly listed for sale at $1.95 million; James would consider selling or leasing.
He has been part of the business most of his life, so once the lumberyard and store are emptied, he will take time off to decompress and contemplate his next move.
